The use of GORE-TEX

MEINDL is the world's first business to explore with and finally deploy GORE-TEX technology in shoes. And maybe the only one who has created shoes that are 100% waterproof from leather or fabric while still allowing the foot to breathe.

So, what exactly is GORE-TEX?

GORE-TEX is a fabric membrane that allows air to move through while simultaneously preventing water from getting through.

As can be seen, such a high-tech material is exceedingly expensive, which is why those who have attempted to reproduce or imitate it with anything less expensive have failed miserably.

The GORE firm, to which GORE-TEX belongs, is now an international conglomerate.
